Jungle Biomes

A few weeks ago, Jeb released a preview of minecraft1.2. This included a new biome called jungles and a new mob spawner.

Minexcraft just got updated to 1.1 which has mob eggs, redstone fences, and a ladder fix.

Nether

The nether is an alternate dimension of minecraft.  You can get there through an obsidian portal which you get by mixing water and lava and then using a diamond pick. There are special mobs here like pigmen. The nether is the only place with glowstone, netherack, and soul sand.

Mobs

Mobs are the enemies of minecraft. They include creepers, spiders, zombie and skeletons. They drop many things you can use to make potions.Also they drop a certain amount of xp when destroyed.

Diamonds

You need a iron pickaxe to get diamonds. They are usually 1068 blocks below sea level. A good sign that you are near diamonds is if you see lava and bedrock which cannot be destroyed. Diamonds can be used to make tools, armour, and enchanting tables. They also help you reach the nether. Good Luck finding some!!

Leather Armour

You can get leather armour by killing cows. they typically drop 3-4 leather and 2 steak. You can craft boots, chest plates, helmet, and pants.
